Terms of Service

Effective June 8, 2026. These Terms govern access to PassLab, an AI writing assistance and detector-risk forecasting product operated by PassLab.

Product scope

PassLab provides writing assistance, meaning-preserving rewrite support, detector-risk forecasts, and quality checks. It does not provide official AI detector scores.

The product does not guarantee academic, platform, institutional, employment, or third-party detector outcomes.

Risk forecasts are estimates based on our own models, heuristics, and quality checks. They should be treated as decision-support information, not as a certification or official report.

User responsibility

Users are responsible for the final use of any input, output, or report. Users must follow school, employer, platform, client, and local rules.

Users may only submit content they own or are authorized to edit and process.

Users must independently review outputs for accuracy, meaning preservation, citations, formatting, and compliance before using them.

Prohibited use

Users may not use the service as an essay mill, to create homework from scratch for deceptive submission, to violate school or platform policies, or to process infringing, illegal, abusive, hateful, or harmful content.

Users may not attempt to overload, scrape, reverse engineer, bypass security, abuse free limits, or interfere with the service.

Users may not resell access, share accounts to evade limits, run automated bulk jobs without permission, or present PassLab outputs as guaranteed to pass any detector.

Accounts and access

Some features require an account. Users are responsible for keeping account credentials secure and for activity under their account.

We may suspend or terminate access for abuse, fraud, chargeback abuse, security risk, legal risk, or violation of these Terms.

Billing, credits, and cancellation

Paid products may include one-time credits or subscriptions. Pricing, billing cadence, and plan benefits are shown on the pricing page before checkout.

Credits are added only after verified payment events from the payment provider. Credit balances may be adjusted for refunds, chargebacks, fraud, or processing errors.

Subscription users can cancel future renewals through the customer portal or support path when available. Refunds are handled according to the Refund Policy.

Service availability

PassLab may rely on hosting, authentication, payment, AI model, queue, and email providers. The service may be unavailable or slower during maintenance, provider outages, model failures, queue pressure, abuse mitigation, or beta testing.

We may update, limit, or discontinue features, models, credit rules, and plan benefits as the product evolves, while trying to avoid unfair disruption to paid users.

Intellectual property and feedback

Users retain rights to their submitted text, subject to any rights they already owe to schools, employers, clients, publishers, or other third parties.

PassLab retains rights to the product, software, interface, models, prompts, evaluation logic, branding, and related materials. Feedback may be used to improve the service without creating compensation obligations.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided as a writing assistance product. We are not responsible for user misuse or decisions by third-party institutions, platforms, employers, or detector providers.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PassLab is provided without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free output, detector success, academic acceptance, or fitness for a particular use.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for paid use is limited to the amount paid for the relevant product or subscription period.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as the product, payment flow, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
