ETHICS

A revision tool, not a shortcut.

PassLab helps people revise writing they are responsible for. It does not think for you, and it is not a way around the rules you write under.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

How we build PassLab.

  • Honest scores

Every AI risk score is labelled as a PassLab estimate. We never present it as an official detector result.

  • Your meaning first

PassLab rewrites only what needs it and checks the facts your argument depends on, so the work stays yours.

  • Every change visible

Rewritten sentences are highlighted so you can review each one before you use the draft. Nothing changes behind your back.

  • No promises we cannot keep

We do not promise a detector outcome, and we do not let affiliates or partners promise one either.

  • Your drafts, your account

Drafts are saved to your own account so you can return to them, and you can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.

  • Clear limits

Scores describe writing patterns, not proof of authorship. We say so wherever a score appears.

USING PASSLAB RESPONSIBLY

Five simple rules.

  • Revise your own work

Use PassLab on writing you wrote, co-wrote or are authorized to edit.

  • Follow your institution's rules

Schools, employers and publishers set their own policies on AI assistance. Those rules come first.

  • Be open about AI use

Where you are asked to disclose AI assistance, disclose it.

  • Keep the final say

Read the changes, keep what is right and fix what is not. You are the author.

  • Do not misrepresent results

PassLab estimates are not official detector results and must not be presented as one.

WHAT IS NOT ALLOWED

Where we draw the line.

PassLab is not an essay mill. It must not be used to produce work from scratch for deceptive submission, to break school or platform rules, to process text you have no right to use, or to create harmful content.

The full terms are in our Acceptable Use policy. Accounts that break it may be suspended.
